We've got some big news! Seriously, this is big. We're moving to Michigan! Matt has taken a new job at Gentex in Holland, about 30 minutes from my hometown (where my parents and sister Amanda still live) on the west side of the state. We are so very excited to be closer to family in Michigan and Wisconsin, especially with baby Jack on the way.
Once the celebration was over, the reality set in - we're going to be moving across the country while I'm in the home stretch of my pregnancy. There's been so much to do already.....sell Matt's G35, put our notices into work, organize the house, put the house up for sale, schedule movers, decide where we're going to live, find a midwife, etc. So far we've gotten most of those items done. We'll be moving the weekend of March 5th, driving cross country with Clifford, and Matt starts his new job on the 14th. I'll be beginning my career as a stay at home mom a little early - can't help but be excited for that! We are going to live in my parent's basement until our house in Arizona is sold and after the baby is born, then we'll be looking for a house closer to Matt's job. Lots of changes!
Oh yes, and I left out our trip to Hawaii in the meantime! We are going to one of my favorite resorts of all time, the Fairmont Kea Lani in Maui, and will be there during peak whale watching season! It'll be a relaxing 5 days between leaving our jobs and moving. And yes, I'm able to fly!
I'm a runner, triathlete, hiker, road biker, pizza lover, traveler, Ironman, swimmer.....oh, and I gained 45lbs during my recent pregnancy!! I welcomed my baby boy on April 9th and couldn't be happier as a stay at home mom. Can I get my runners endurance and prepregnancy body back or will I be a chubby mom couch potato with a collection of crumbs and spit up on my chest? Only time will tell....

32 weeks and a 5k
What a fun, busy weekend! My sister Carrie was in town from Michigan, and I think she was more excited to meet Clifford than to see us! We went for a run (she did 10 miles, Clifford and I did 3.5), ate a lot of yummy food, and then ran in my favorite race ever - the SkirtChasers 5k. It's such a fun race! Upon registration, the women all get skirts to run in from Skirt Sports. On race day, the women start first and then the men start 3 minutes later and try to catch up to the women. This was our 3rd year running, and Matt was finally able to catch me! After the race there is a great party with free beer and wine, burritos, music, a fashion show, and a lot of fun. We convinced several of our friends to join us, and everyone had a great time. I did the 5k in 32:25 - my last race at that pace!
At 32 weeks, Jack is a kicking and flipping and moving machine! I'm still feeling great and I credit my regular workouts to that (and maybe Matt's foot rubs!). The doctor said everything looks perfect and he's head down, where he will likely stay for hopefully at least 8 more weeks. Crazy how time is flying!
